IBM have partnered with Yahoo to provide a free corporate search solution. IBM OmniFind Yahoo edition will allow corporations to search within 500 000 documents on their corporate network.

Internet search is one of the most important online resources. Without search
engines it would be very difficult for users to locate the information they are
looking for. Currently most search engines build an index of websites then allow
users to search within their index. Today users are looking for a much wider
scope of information that simple the web.

Today the web search market is split unevenly between Yahoo, MSN and Goole
with Google certainly having the upper hand. What if MSN and Yahoo where to
merge? This would certainly level out the playing field and pave the way for
possible the greatest battle between any online companies in history. Let the
games begin.

Google Pagerank messed up

Over the past week or so Google has been acting very strange with regard to
it's Page Rank display. Many people are reporting very different readings for
the same websites. It has been recognises that results may vary quite widely
depending on what data centre your search query is handled by, but it looks as
if the same is now happening for Google Toolbar Page Rank display.

It was bound to happen. Sooner or later Google cache would be tested through
the court system. Well it has happened and the courts have ruled in favour of
Google.
